ABOUT MYSELF
I was born in Greci, in 1949, and my father was Nicola Zoccano and my mother is Ciasullo Leonarda. My maternal grandparents were Maria DiMinno and Michele Ciasullo. My paternal grandparent were Maddalena Camelia and Saverio Zoccano. My grandfather Saverio came to Canada in approximately 1920 with his older son Giovanni, who resided in Detroit and approximately one year later my grandfather died and is buried at St. Peter's Cemetery in London, Ontario.
I came to Canada in September, 1970 and was married in 1973 to Vilia Di Loreto. In 1975, our first son Nicola was born and in 1982, our daughter Lea was born.
From 1972 until 1980, I hosted an all Italian Radio Program later went on to host a series of Italian TV programs in the London area.
In 1991, I was elected Trustee for the Catholic School Board in London and re-elected again in 1994 for a second term. During my term as a Trustee, I sat on various committees for the School Board. Presently, I sit as a Board Member for the Marconi Nonprofit Housing Corporation in the capacity of Vice President.
In my free time, I have and continue to be an active participant in numerous committee, community organizations, church activities and charitable events.
